UKREiiF is backing a national campaign seeking action to improve conditions for thousands of children living in temporary accommodation across the UK.
The property and infrastructure forum has become a sponsor of 165,000 Reasons, which brings together local authorities, charities and organisations from across the built environment to push for reform.
The campaign says the latest figures show 176,130 children across the UK do not currently have a stable place to call home, with families facing problems including overcrowding, repeated moves and disruption to education.
UKREiiF’s support is intended to increase the campaign’s reach across the property and infrastructure sectors and encourage organisations with land, investment, expertise and development capacity to become involved.
INDUSTRY ACTION
The 165,000 Reasons campaign was launched at UKREiiF in Leeds in May and is developing recommendations aimed at improving temporary accommodation standards, creating faster routes into settled homes and reducing long-term reliance on temporary housing.

HOUSING PRESSURES
The campaign is working with local authorities, housing and development organisations, charities and people with lived experience to identify potential reforms.
