Property industry veteran Michael Day is stepping up his fundraising efforts for Diabetes UK as he prepares to tackle the charity’s London Bridges Wellness Walk later this month.
The Managing Director of Integra Property Services has already raised more than £1,000 ahead of the 10-mile walk on 27 September, which starts at Battersea Park and finishes near Tower Bridge.
Day has lived with Type 1 diabetes for more than 35 years and underwent a triple heart bypass in 2021, with his experiences prompting him to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
Over the past three years, with support from across the property industry, he has raised more than £8,000 through a series of challenges and fundraising initiatives.
CROSSING BRIDGES
These include two One Million Step Challenges and several London Bridges Wellness Walks, which Day often completes alongside his daughter Carrie (main picture, left and right).
Michael and Carrie have also been selected to feature in promotional material for this year’s event.
The London Bridges Wellness Walk takes participants across a number of the capital’s best-known bridges, raising money to support Diabetes UK’s research and services for people living with diabetes.
With the event approaching, Day says he is now increasing both his training and fundraising efforts.
CHRISTMAS SINGLE
His fundraising has also extended beyond walking challenges.
In 2025 Day wrote and recorded a Christmas single, with proceeds split between Diabetes UK and The Propertymark Trust.
He has now written and recorded another track for 2026, It’s Not the Same for Everyone on Christmas Day, which is due to be released on Bandcamp on 14 November.
Day’s latest challenge continues a long-running effort to use his own experience of living with diabetes to raise awareness of the condition while generating funds for Diabetes UK.
