Street launches AI platform to reshape agency model and roles

Street.co.uk has launched a new AI platform designed to fundamentally change how estate agencies operate, scale and structure their teams.

The product, Cortex, allows agents to build and deploy their own AI “workforce” capable of executing tasks across the full agency workflow, from handling enquiries and client communication through to marketing, sales progression and property management.
Unlike many AI tools positioned as add-ons, Street says Cortex sits above its existing CRM and marketing ecosystem, enabling agents to orchestrate AI agents that can take action within systems rather than simply assist.

The launch points to a potential shift in the traditional agency model, where large parts of admin-heavy processes can be handled by AI, allowing agents to focus on higher-value activity such as negotiation, vendor care and deal progression.

CUSTOMISED WORKFLOWS

Street says the platform’s flexibility allows agents to create customised AI workflows using natural language instructions, covering tasks including applicant re-engagement, content creation, compliance support and internal knowledge management.

The firm adds that the technology has implications for staffing structures, with AI expected to take on a growing share of process-driven roles across agencies.

“There’s a lot of noise around AI at the moment.”

Tom Staff (main picture), Co-Founder of Street.co.uk, says: “There’s a lot of noise around AI at the moment, and much of it is focused on layering new tools onto existing systems. Cortex isn’t an add-on like the many other ‘solutions’ we’re seeing enter the market, it’s a completely new way of running an agency.

“It allows agents to create and deploy AI that actually does the work, not just assist with it, and that has a direct impact on how agencies are structured and how they scale.

“So for example, Cortex won’t just help you form an appropriate response to a client email, it will receive, write and reply to it. And that’s really just its baseline capabilities, it’s not just capable of more, the possibilities are literally endless.”

BIG IMPLICATIONS

And he adds: “We understand that this level of change comes with significant implications for the industry, particularly when it comes to how teams are built and the roles that exist within them.

“But ultimately, this technology is about enabling agents to spend more time doing the things that truly require a human touch, building relationships, advising clients, and delivering better outcomes.

“It’s a major shift, and one that will effectively rewrite the playbook for estate agency operations. And while that’s a big statement, it’s one that becomes very clear the moment you see Cortex in action.”

The launch underlines the pace at which AI is moving beyond support tools into core operational infrastructure, with the potential to reshape both cost bases and headcount strategies across the agency.
