Property industry figure Michael Day is returning with a second charity Christmas single after raising thousands of pounds for good causes with last year’s release.
The Integra Property Services founder will release his original song It’s Not the Same for Everyone on Christmas Day on 14 November, with proceeds supporting Diabetes UK and The Propertymark Trust.
The song contrasts the celebrations traditionally associated with Christmas with the experience of people facing hardship, isolation and other challenges during the festive period.
It follows Day’s 2025 single Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, which raised several thousand pounds for the same two charities.
MORE THAN £10,000 RAISED
This year’s track will cost £3 or more to download through Bandcamp, with all money raised after platform fees divided between Diabetes UK and The Propertymark Trust.
An accompanying animated video will be released at the same time, with a number of property industry conferences already agreeing to show it in the run-up to Christmas.
Day’s fundraising has a particularly personal connection with Diabetes UK.
He has lived with type one diabetes for more than 35 years and over the past four years has raised more than £10,000 for the charity through his music and physical fundraising challenges.
These have included completing two one-million-step challenges and four London Bridges walks.
His work also extends into the property industry’s own charitable activities. Day is a Director and Trustee of The Propertymark Trust and chairs its Education Group.
His fundraising efforts were recognised by Agents Giving this year when he received its Creative Fundraising Champion Award 2026. He was also shortlisted in two other award categories.
CHRISTMAS RETURN
Day (main picture) says last year’s experience convinced him to return with another original Christmas song.
He says: “Whilst last year’s song may not have troubled Kylie for the coveted UK Christmas number one slot, it was very well received and raised a decent sum of money and profile for the charities.
“I am delighted that a number of industry conferences have already agreed to show the video in the run up to Christmas and I have organised an extensive press and PR campaign to support the song’s fundraising.”
The theme of this year’s release is deliberately more reflective, highlighting the contrast between the enjoyment many people experience over Christmas and the difficulties faced by those who can become less visible during the festive period.
PROPERTY INDUSTRY SUPPORT
The launch provides another opportunity for estate and letting agents and the wider property industry to support Day’s fundraising.
As well as buying the track, businesses will be able to help increase its reach by sharing the song and accompanying video ahead of Christmas.
Day is also a regular songwriter and gigging musician, releasing music under the name Michael S Day. His album Prodigal Son is available alongside his other releases, and he plans to perform the new Christmas track at his scheduled live appearances throughout December.
Last year’s charity single remains available online alongside its animated video, which was created by Toby Martin.
This year’s It’s Not the Same for Everyone on Christmas Day will be released on 14 November 2026, with the song available through Day’s Bandcamp page and the accompanying video on his YouTube channel.
All proceeds from downloads, after platform fees, will be shared between Diabetes UK and The Propertymark Trust.
