Rightmove has added an AI-powered property comparison tool to its search results as it reports users of its existing AI search technology are generating around twice as many leads for agents.
The new Comparison Assistant allows buyers and renters to compare properties side by side and ask questions that go beyond conventional portal search filters.
Home movers can ask which property is better suited to hybrid working or families, compare outdoor space or create their own criteria covering factors such as schools, supermarkets and transport connections.
The feature, powered by Google Gemini, will initially be available to a subset of Rightmove users before being rolled out more widely.
AGENT LEADS
Rightmove says early use of its Ask Rightmove technology suggests home movers using conversational search are engaging more deeply with listings.
In the period to 30 June, users of the Search Assistant spent 40% longer on Rightmove than those who did not use it, saved more than twice as many properties and generated around twice as many leads to agents.
The new comparison feature draws on information supplied by sales and letting agents in their listings alongside Rightmove property data, Google Maps, Experian schools information and Land Registry data.
It means the quality and detail of information agents provide in listings could become increasingly important as AI is used to identify and compare individual property features.
AI SEARCH
Comparison Assistant is the third element of Rightmove’s Ask Rightmove service.
Its Search Assistant was introduced through the homepage search bar in February, followed by an Evaluation Assistant within individual property listings in July.
