Alto has launched an online property auction service across its estate agency CRM, giving more than 6,000 agencies access to traditional and conditional auctions at no additional subscription cost.
Alto Auctions, powered by Bamboo Proptech, went live on Monday and is available to Alto’s 35,000 daily users, which the company says represents around a third of UK estate agency.
The service analyses an agency’s existing stock and rates individual properties for their suitability for auction, with AI-driven price guidance built into the workflow.
Agents can then manage an auction themselves within Alto, supported by Bamboo’s back-office operation, or opt for Bamboo to fully manage the process while retaining visibility through the CRM.
AUCTIONS GAIN GROUND
The launch comes amid growing use of property auctions. Essential Information Group figures show 4,042 lots were offered in June 2026, with 2,659 sold as auction activity increased 36.5% year-on-year.
Alto is also positioning auctions as an alternative for properties struggling through private treaty. Quick Move Now data suggests 23.4% of UK property sales fell through during the first half of 2026, with a third of failed transactions attributed to buyers being unable to secure a mortgage.
Alto says fall-throughs through its auction proposition are below 1%, with suitable properties completing in around six weeks.
Agents will earn at least £2,500 for each completed auction sale in addition to their standard vendor fee. Conditional auctions can also generate a buyer fee of 1.5% plus VAT of the purchase price.
‘STOCK THAT’S QUIETLY GOING NOWHERE’

Alto Director of Partnerships Stuart Pick says: “Every agency has stock that’s quietly going nowhere.
“The property that’s had two reductions and a buyer walk away. Agents know auction could move it. What stops them is that auction has always been a specialist job, run outside the system they work in every day.
“Alto Auctions changes that. It tells you which properties are right for auction, then lets any negotiator run the sale without leaving Alto. No one has put that inside a CRM before. Auction used to mean handing a property over and hoping. Now you keep control, and you can see exactly where the sale is.”
Bamboo Proptech CEO Robin Rathore (main picture, inset) adds: “Property transactions are far too long and in such a fragile market as the one we’re in, it’s so important to keep sales cycles and pipelines moving.
“Bamboo’s integration gives Alto estate agents a real advantage in the market. Agents using Alto Auctions can speed up their sales by accessing a tried and tested method of sale. One of the great things about this integration is that it’s in one place for the agent – one login, one contract and just a few clicks to sell by auction.”
