Almost 500 aspiring homeowners attended the Manchester Home Show as buyers sought advice on Shared Ownership and other routes onto the property ladder.
The free event, organised by Share to Buy Live, brought together housing providers, mortgage brokers and legal experts at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel.
Visitors were able to explore affordable homeownership options across the North West and receive advice on affordability, eligibility, mortgages and the legal process involved in buying a home.
Housing associations L&Q and Plumlife Homes sponsored the event, with Gecko Homes, Latimer by Clarion Housing Group, Snugg Homes, Your Housing Group, Together Homes and Onward Living among the other exhibitors.
SHARED OWNERSHIP INTEREST
A programme of educational sessions also ran throughout the day, with a Metro Finance presentation examining whether Shared Ownership could be suitable for prospective buyers proving the most popular.
Other sessions covered advice for first-time buyers and the legal process involved in purchasing a Shared Ownership property.
Mortgage brokers including Metro Finance, Smiths Financial, Just Mortgages and TMP The Mortgage People also attended alongside a number of conveyancing firms.

Nick Lieb, Chief Operations Officer at Share to Buy, says: “It was fantastic to welcome almost 500 aspiring homeowners to the Manchester Home Show and see so many people actively exploring the options available to them.
“Buying a home can feel like a complicated process, particularly for first-time buyers who may be unsure about affordability, eligibility or simply where to begin.
“The popularity of our expert sessions showed just how valuable clear, practical advice can be, and that’s exactly what the Manchester Home Show is designed to provide.
“By bringing housing providers together with financial and legal experts under one roof, we’re able to give buyers the opportunity to ask questions, understand their options and take those next steps towards homeownership with greater confidence.”
