Top 10% of estate agents to be recognised in UK-wide assessment

The top 10% of estate agencies are set to be recognised following an analysis covering 99.6% of UK sales and lettings listings.

The Best Estate Agency Guide Awards 2026/27 will assess agencies against competitors operating in their local markets using transaction and performance data.
The assessment considers whether properties sell or let, the time taken, whether transactions proceed to exchange or fall through, how achieved prices compare with those originally advertised and overall service.

Results will be announced at the EA Masters on 3 November before the Best Estate Agency Guide is published the following day.

WHOLE-MARKET ASSESSMENT

Data experts Twenty Convey have carried out the analysis using UK property transaction data, including Land Registry data, with both sales and lettings agencies included.

Around 5% of agencies will receive the highest ‘exceptional’ grading and a Gold Award, with a further 5% rated ‘excellent’.

Organisers say the approach differs from awards based on entries or nominations because agencies do not have to put themselves forward to be assessed.

Joanna Knight OBE (main picture), Chief Executive Officer of Leaders Inc, says: “These awards are unlike any other in the industry because they assess the whole of the market. Every single estate and lettings agency across the UK is included in our data, as is every property transaction. This gives agencies a genuinely comprehensive picture of how they are performing against their local competition.

“The winners have already been decided, so Agencies that win a Silver or Gold Award should therefore be proud of their achievement as they have been assessed against the full market in their area and can use their award to differentiate themselves and demonstrate to potential home buyers and sellers that they are delivering strong results and service. The event is a great opportunity to celebrate their win.”

EA MASTERS

The awards form part of the EA Masters conference, exhibition and awards event at Evolution London.

More than 50 exhibitors are expected alongside speakers from the UK and international property markets, with organisers saying more than 60% of available tickets have already been sold.

Knight adds: “While there are a number of awards programmes in the industry, many assess less than 10% of the market. The Best Estate Agency Guide is different because it is based on the whole market, giving agencies and consumers a much more complete and meaningful assessment of performance.

“Alongside the awards evening, we’d encourage every estate agency to attend the conference and exhibition to hear from some of the world’s leading agents from the UK, Ireland, UAE, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and USA about their current strategies and tactics.

“We’ve already sold more than 60% of the tickets available for the event, so we would encourage agents to sign up now to secure a place.”
