Spitfire Homes has acquired a 9.9-acre site within Droitwich Spa’s historic Impney Estate for the development of 127 homes.
The Solihull-based housebuilder will deliver the Little Impney scheme next to Impney Hall, formerly known as Chateau Impney, as it continues to expand across Worcestershire and the wider Midlands.
Plans include one- to five-bedroom detached, semi-detached and terraced homes alongside maisonettes and refurbished apartments.
The acquisition follows Spitfire securing planning permission for 240 homes at Malabar in Daventry, its largest development to date.
HISTORIC SETTING
Little Impney has been designed to reflect the architecture of the surrounding estate, incorporating stone detailing, feature gables, parapets and tall windows.
The scheme will also retain and refurbish Pillon’s Villa, which will be converted into two apartments.
Matt Vincent, Operations Director at Spitfire Homes, says: “Little Impney represents a significant addition to our growing portfolio and reinforces our continued commitment to expanding Spitfire’s presence across the Midlands and further developing our Bespoke Collection.
“The Impney Estate provides a remarkable setting and an opportunity to showcase our renowned architectural flair, drawing inspiration from its heritage to create a collection that complements the historic surroundings.
“We’re incredibly proud to be investing in Droitwich Spa and look forward to bringing our vision for Little Impney to life.”
£1.7M INVESTMENT
Spitfire says the development will generate almost £1.7m of investment in the local area through contributions towards highways, education and NHS services, while supporting more than 440 jobs.
Plans include parkland and landscaping, a children’s play area, community allotments, a central square and woodland walking routes.
Homes will also feature solar panels, air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points and underfloor heating as standard.
