LGSS targets growth after completing 376,000 valuations

Legal & General Surveying Services (LGSS) is targeting further growth after completing more than 376,000 valuations during 2025.

The business plans to increase its visibility across the mortgage market, enhance its technology and strengthen its position with lenders handling more complex valuation requirements.
Its growth strategy follows investment in its senior leadership team, technology and industry partnerships since transitioning to new ownership.

LGSS says it will continue combining automated valuation processes with professional judgement from RICS-regulated surveyors, ensuring the approach used reflects the risks and complexity of each case.

COMPLEX CASES COME INTO FOCUS

The firm believes the valuation market is entering a new phase as technology takes on a greater proportion of straightforward cases.

This is making the ability to assess unusual or complex properties accurately and consistently an increasingly important distinction between valuation providers.

Richard Sexton (main picture), Managing Director of Legal & General Surveying Services, says: “The valuation market has changed significantly over recent years, the rate of change is picking up speed, and our business is evolving with it.

“We’ve invested in experienced people; we’ve strengthened our technology and continued to focus on nurturing industry relationships.

“That work has given us a platform for growth. The next chapter starts now, and we’re looking forward to sharing more about what that means for our clients and the wider market.”

TECHNOLOGY AND JUDGEMENT

LGSS says lenders increasingly want valuation partners capable of combining experienced surveyors, modern technology and robust risk management.

Sexton adds: “The market doesn’t need another valuation firm trying to process more cases faster.

“It needs firms that know when technology is appropriate and when professional judgement makes the difference. That’s the business we’re continuing to build.”

LGSS intends to announce further developments over the coming weeks as it progresses its long-term growth strategy.
