Twenty-five people from across the estate agency industry have raised more than £29,600 for Breast Cancer Now in memory of Sarah Edmundson.
The WiEA Together team took on the Thames Path Ultra Challenge on Saturday 12 September, with participants completing either 25km or the full 50km route.
Walkers from estate agency, lettings, suppliers and other property businesses started at Putney Bridge before travelling through Richmond and Hampton Court, with those tackling the longer distance continuing towards Runnymede and Windsor.
The challenge was organised jointly by Women in Estate Agency and Agents Together in memory of Edmundson, who died from breast cancer in 2024.
REMEMBERING SARAH
Edmundson was Chief Executive Officer of Agents Together and a board member of Women in Estate Agency and was widely known across the property industry for supporting and mentoring others.
Vicky Bibiris, Chair of Agents Together, says: “For me, that summed up the whole day. It was never just about the distance any one person walked, it was about what happened when people decided they were going to get behind one another and see it through.
“Sarah had an extraordinary ability to bring people together, often without making a fuss about it, and there was something very fitting about seeing that happen again in her name.”
Bibiris says participants continued supporting each other throughout the challenge, including following the progress of walkers still completing the course late into the day.
£29,600 AND RISING
Amy Bibiris, WiEA Regional Champion for London, says: “There were people walking together who had never met before that morning, yet within a few hours they were checking on one another, sharing food, carrying things, slowing down when somebody needed them to and finding ways to keep spirits up when the distance started to hurt.
“That is the part I am most proud of, because nobody was interested in being the quickest or having the best finishing time. People genuinely wanted everyone around them to succeed.”
The fundraising total has now passed £29,600 and continues to rise, with the donation page remaining open.
Money raised will support Breast Cancer Now’s research, campaigning and support for people affected by breast cancer.
