Dwelly strengthens South West presence with Move acquisition

Dwelly has acquired Cheltenham-based estate agency Move, marking its sixth acquisition of 2026 and further accelerating its expansion across the UK lettings sector.

The deal brings around 1,100 fully managed properties and three branches into the Dwelly network, significantly strengthening the company’s presence in Cheltenham and the wider South West.
The acquisition follows closely behind Dwelly’s purchase of fellow Cheltenham agency Elliot Oliver, giving the business an even stronger foothold in one of the region’s most active property markets.

Founded by George Tatham-Losh, Move has built a strong reputation across both lettings and sales. Following the transaction, Tatham-Losh will step back from the business, while Verity Howes will assume the role of Managing Director and lead the next phase of growth under Dwelly’s ownership.

LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

Dwelly says it remains focused on acquiring established independent agencies with strong local reputations, while allowing them to retain their identity and customer relationships.

George Tatham-Losh (main picture, left), Founder of Move, says: “Move has been built over many years through the hard work of a fantastic team and a genuine commitment to delivering great service across the local market.

“As the industry continues to evolve, it became increasingly important to find a partner that could help take the business forward whilst protecting the culture and reputation we’ve worked so hard to build.

“Dwelly’s approach to acquisitions really aligned with that thinking. Their focus on empowering local agencies through better operational support and technology, rather than removing what makes them successful, gave me a huge amount of confidence about the future direction of the business.”

Sam Humphreys (main picture, right), Head of M&A at Dwelly, adds: “As our acquisition activity has accelerated this year, we’ve remained incredibly focused on the type of businesses we want to partner with.

“Move stood out because it’s a business with deep local roots, a strong culture and a team that genuinely understands its market.

“Those qualities are incredibly difficult to build and they’re exactly what we value most when looking at acquisitions.

“Our approach is about helping already successful agencies operate even more effectively by improving the infrastructure behind the scenes.

“Through technology and AI-led systems, we’re able to remove much of the manual admin and operational friction that slows teams down, allowing them to spend more time focused on service, relationships and growth.”

The acquisition is the latest step in Dwelly’s rapid expansion strategy, with the business continuing to target independent agencies that combine strong local market knowledge with established customer relationships.
