Whitegates has strengthened its presence across West Yorkshire after acquiring independent estate agency Harvey & Ryall Estate Agency.
The deal sees Whitegates franchise owners Chan and Kashmir Khangura add Harvey & Ryall’s sales and lettings portfolio to their existing operation, continuing a long-term expansion strategy that has combined organic growth with targeted acquisitions since taking over the Whitegates business in 2012.
Harvey & Ryall, founded and operated by Keon and Emma Ryall, has built a strong reputation in the Huddersfield area, with its portfolio now transferring to Whitegates while the owners focus on expanding their property maintenance business, Two Gates Design.
The acquisition reflects a wider trend across the estate agency sector, with established regional operators using acquisitions to grow market share, expand managed portfolios and strengthen local coverage.
GROWTH OPPORTUNITY
Chan Khangura (main picture, right), Managing Director of Whitegates Huddersfield, Brighouse, Mirfield and Pontefract, says: “Harvey & Ryall has built an excellent reputation within the local market, and Keon and Emma have developed strong, long-standing relationships with their clients.
“We are delighted they have chosen Whitegates to continue the next chapter for the business. Our priority is to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining the personal service their customers value.
“This acquisition further strengthens our presence across the region and supports our continued ambition for sustainable growth.”
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Keon Ryall (main picture, left), adds: “After careful consideration, we wanted to ensure our clients and portfolio would be looked after by a business that shares our values and commitment to customer service.
“Chan and Kashmir have demonstrated an impressive track record of successfully integrating independent agencies while continuing to deliver a personal service. Emma and I are confident our clients will be in excellent hands, and we wish the Whitegates team every success for the future.
“We will now have more time to focus on growing Two Gates Design, our building and property maintenance services business, while continuing the same high standards our clients have come to expect over the years.”
GROWTH STRATEGY

Rob Smith, Group Managing Director of The Property Franchise Group, says that the acquisition demonstrated the benefits of a long-term growth strategy, adding that the business had consistently identified and successfully integrated high-quality local agencies.
He adds: “Chan and Kashmir continue to demonstrate the value of a clear, long-term acquisition strategy.
“Their ability to identify high-quality local businesses and integrate them successfully into their operation is a testament to the strength of their team and their reputation within the market.
“We congratulate them on another successful acquisition and look forward to supporting their continued growth.”
The integration will take place immediately, with Whitegates saying it will retain a strong focus on continuity of service for existing vendors, buyers, landlords and tenants.
