UKREiiF launches dedicated high street regeneration day

UKREiiF is launching a dedicated High Streets & Urban Centres Day bringing landlords, developers, councils, investors and major occupiers together to examine the future of UK town and city centres.

The programme will take place on 18 May 2027, the opening day of next year’s UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
Organisers say the initiative reflects the changing role of high streets as town centres increasingly combine housing, leisure, hospitality, culture and civic services alongside traditional retail.

It will focus on the partnerships and investment needed to tackle vacant units, underperforming shopping areas and wider town centre regeneration.

CHANGING HIGH STREETS

The programme will include panel discussions, roundtables, a headline partner session and networking events.

UKREiiF says the event will bring together retail, hospitality and leisure operators with landlords, councils, business improvement districts, developers and investors.

Organisations attending the wider UKREiiF event include major property owners and investors Landsec, British Land, Grosvenor and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, alongside retailers, hotel groups and leisure operators.

Maisie Powell, External Affairs & Content Manager at UKREiiF, says: “Every town and city in the country is asking the same question about its centre: what brings people back? The answer is rarely one sector. It’s a hotel operator talking to a council, a leisure brand talking to a landlord, an investor seeing a pipeline where others see empty units.

“Those conversations already happen at UKREiiF. High Streets & Urban Centres Day gives them a dedicated space, and a programme built around the decisions that turn a high street around.”

REGENERATION INVESTMENT

High Streets & Urban Centres Day will sit within the wider three-day UKREiiF event, which takes place from 18 to 20 May 2027.

UKREiiF says the wider forum attracts more than 17,000 delegates and features more than £300bn of investment opportunities.

The new programme is intended to provide a dedicated route for occupiers, local authorities, developers and investors seeking partnerships around town and city centre regeneration.
