One Utility Bill unveils guaranteed commission model for letting agents

One Utility Bill has launched a new commission structure for letting agents that guarantees payment on every qualified tenant move-in referral, regardless of whether the tenant switches utility provider.

The utility management specialist says the model differs from many traditional utility referral schemes, where commission is only paid once a tenant completes a switch after moving into a property.
Under its Notify by One Utility Bill platform, agents receive commission for introducing the tenancy, with One Utility Bill managing the utility registration process.

Payments are available on all qualified referrals, while agencies using integrated CRM systems can receive commission automatically through their existing workflows.

PREDICTABLE REVENUE STREAM

The company believes the approach provides agents with a more predictable revenue stream at a time when lettings businesses face rising operational costs and increasing compliance demands.

According to One Utility Bill, agencies completing around 50 lets per month could generate in excess of £10,000 a year in commission income through the platform.

Paul Neary (main picture), Head of Partnerships at One Utility Bill, says: “Letting agents are under more pressure than ever, balancing increasing operational costs, compliance legislation, occupancy, renewals and tenant expectations, often with limited time and resources.

“That’s exactly why we’ve built the Notify commission model differently. We believe agents should be rewarded early in the process. You earn commission on every qualified move-in you refer, without being forced into void switching dependencies or complicated conditions to unlock your payout.

“We’re committed to building long-term partnerships with agents based on transparency, consistency, and genuine value, giving you the confidence that every referred move-in delivers guaranteed commission.”

RECURRING INCOME

The company says the model has proved particularly popular with agents looking to generate additional recurring income without creating extra administrative work for their teams.

“In an industry where ‘utility solutions’ can often create more problems than they solve, One Utility Bill has been a breath of fresh air.”

One Utility Bill says the initiative forms part of its wider strategy to simplify tenancy administration while creating new revenue opportunities for letting agents.
