NPTN webinar to tackle property market reform

NPTN by LMS is bringing together property industry figures for a live webinar examining how the growing number of initiatives aimed at reforming the homebuying and selling process fit together.

The session, Property Market Reform: Making Sense of the Moving Parts, will take place on 17 September and focus on the industry’s move towards a more connected, smart data-led property market.
Representatives from LMS, the Open Property Data Association, Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology and Conveyancing Association will discuss the roles being played by different organisations and what lenders, conveyancers and estate agents should prioritise over the next 6–12 months.

The discussion follows a series of government and industry initiatives aimed at making trusted property information easier to share between different participants in a transaction, reducing duplication and delays during the moving process.

CONNECTING THE REFORMS

The panel will feature Travis Scholes, Commercial Director at LMS; Maria Harris, Chair of the Open Property Data Association; Leon Ifayemi, Director of Coalitions and Research at the Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology; and Beth Rudolf, Director of Delivery at the Conveyancing Association.

Topics will include what is changing across the property market, how different initiatives and working groups connect and the practical steps businesses can take now.

Scholes says: “There’s a lot of important progress happening across the industry, but from the outside, it can be hard to understand how all the moving parts fit together.

“We wanted to bring some of the key industry voices driving this discussion into one room, not to add another initiative to the pile, but to help the industry see the whole picture – who’s doing what, why it matters, and how stakeholders can take action now.”

SMARTER HOME MOVING

NPTN – the National Property Transaction Network – has been developed by LMS as an open, real-time network intended to connect different organisations involved in buying and selling homes.

Scholes adds: “The more we can connect these conversations across the industry, the better placed we’ll be to turn good ideas and individual initiatives into meaningful progress.”

The webinar will run from 2pm to 3pm on Thursday 17 September and will conclude with a live audience Q&A.
