Fine & Country and The Guild of Property Professionals will put their sister-company relationship aside this week as they compete in the inaugural Agency Challenge Cup.
The three-day golf competition at Celtic Manor will bring together 28 players from across the two agency networks, complete with team uniforms, live scoring, walk-on music and a disciplinary committee.
Play begins on Thursday with Fourball Better Ball on The Montgomerie, followed by singles on Celtic Manor’s Twenty Ten course on Friday and a Pairs Texas Scramble on Roman Road on Saturday.
Fine & Country will be captained by Jonathan Handford, Director of Fine & Country Midlands, while Ian Crampton, Sales Director at Ferndown Estates, leads The Guild team.
BRAGGING RIGHTS AT STAKE

Handford says: “There’s a lot of friendly banter flying around at the moment, but make no mistake, we’re there to win.
“The fact that Fine & Country and The Guild are sister companies makes this even more fun, because we know each other well enough to enjoy the rivalry and give each other plenty of stick.
“We’ve got a strong team, we’ve got the kit, we’ve got the walk-on music and now we just need to deliver on the golf course. The cup is coming home with Fine & Country.”
Crampton is equally confident about The Guild’s chances.
He says: “I think Jonathan has confused confidence with wishful thinking! We’re looking forward to getting out there and putting The Guild name on the trophy.
“It’s a brilliant opportunity to bring people together from across the property industry, but once we’re on the course there will be no favours. We’ll have plenty of laughs, but we’re absolutely going for the win, and we intend to have the bragging rights for the next 12 months.”
‘BRINGING GOOD PEOPLE TOGETHER’
While there is plenty of competitive intent, organisers say the event is primarily designed to bring people from across the property industry together away from work.

Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals, says: “What I love about the Agency Challenge Cup is that it captures the spirit of what we want our industry to be about.
“Yes, there’s a trophy and everyone will want to win, but the bigger picture is bringing good people together, building relationships and creating a bit of fun along the way.”
Dreamhome Films, The ESTAS, CRE Group and ClearPath AI are supporting the inaugural competition, which organisers hope will become an annual fixture.
