Prime London buying agency Eccord has celebrated its 20th anniversary by launching a hot air balloon from the courtyard of Somerset House.
The 25-metre-high balloon was tethered at the London landmark, taking guests 100ft above the ground for sunset views across the capital.
Eccord says it is the first time a hot air balloon has ascended from Somerset House, following detailed planning with the venue and events teams.
The celebration marks two decades since Jo Eccles founded the buying agency in 2006 to represent purchasers in the Prime Central London property market.
PRIME LONDON
Eccord has since helped clients buy and rent more than 400 properties, ranging from £2m pied-à-terres to £60m trophy homes.
The business has also expanded into property management and now looks after more than 150 rental investments for landlords and private homes for owner-occupiers.
Jo Eccles, Founder and Managing Director of Eccord, says: “London has been at the heart of our story since I founded the company in 2006 and we wanted to celebrate in a way that gave our guests a fresh perspective on the city we know and love so well.
“Taking to the skies from the beautiful and iconic Somerset House was a perfect example of that.”
20 YEARS
Eccles established Eccord after working in finance and seeing colleagues struggle to find suitable properties and determine what they should pay.
She adds: “I still remember my meeting with our first ever client and leaving with her go ahead and a cheque in my hand – and that was the start of this journey.
“Building a business and a brand that people truly trust takes time and a genuine authenticity and we wanted to recognise and thank everyone who has been part of that journey.”
