Chestertons promotes Miles as unsold homes move into short lets

Chestertons has promoted Jordana Miles to Head of Short Lets as the agency reports growing interest from owners looking to generate income from properties struggling to sell.

Miles (main picture) takes the role nearly a year after joining Chestertons as Business Development Manager within the division.
The agency says some former landlords and other owners whose properties have remained on the sales market longer than expected are turning to short lets rather than leaving homes empty.

Properties can remain for sale while being let for shorter periods, with stays arranged by Chestertons typically lasting between two-and-a-half and three months.

UNSOLD HOMES

Miles says: “A property can still be well suited to the sales market even if it hasn’t found the right buyer yet.

“Owners don’t necessarily have to leave it empty and absorb the costs while they wait. We can assess the demand for a short let, prepare the property and generate income while keeping the sales strategy in view.”

Chestertons says its short-let operation is also seeing growing demand from corporate clients and international tenants relocating to London.

Across its wider lettings business, the agency has recorded a 7% increase in tenant demand and a 3% rise in move-ins since 1 May.

Tenant enquiries in August were 13% higher than a year earlier, while new landlord instructions increased by around 6%.

LONDON NETWORK

Miles will work across Chestertons’ 35 London branches with sales and lettings teams to identify properties suitable for short lets.

She joined the agency in October 2025 after spending more than five years at Draker Lettings and has experience across Sloane Square, Notting Hill, Fulham and surrounding areas.

Katinka Hill, Head of Lettings at Chestertons, says: “Jordana has been a driving force in our Short Lets team, combining real passion and focus with considerable expertise.

“She has a clear grasp of what the service offers owners and occupants alike, and through close collaboration with colleagues across the business, she has made it easier than ever for clients to use this flexible option.”
