askporter and Checkatrade launch repairs platform for landlords

askporter has partnered with Checkatrade in what the companies describe as an industry-first collaboration designed to simplify repairs and maintenance management for landlords and property managers.

The partnership will integrate askporter’s AI-powered property management platform with Checkatrade’s network of vetted tradespeople, allowing landlords to source contractors, approve works and process payments through a single system.
The move comes as landlords and managing agents face mounting operational and compliance pressures following the introduction of the Renters’ Rights Act, with repairs handling and response times becoming an increasing area of scrutiny across the private rented sector.

Under the new system, tenants report maintenance issues through askporter’s digital assistant, which uses AI to triage problems and resolve straightforward issues automatically where possible.

REDUCED ADMIN

Where repairs require contractor involvement, landlords and property managers receive up to five quotes from tradespeople registered on Checkatrade’s platform. Appointments, pricing approvals, digital sign-off and payments are then managed directly through the integrated platform.

The companies say the collaboration is designed to reduce administrative workloads for property teams while speeding up maintenance coordination and improving communication with tenants.

askporter’s technology is already used by landlords, housing providers and facilities management businesses to automate tenant communications and operational workflows.

ONE PLATFORM

Chief executive Till Eichenauer (main picture) says repairs and maintenance remained “one of the biggest headaches for landlords and property managers”.

“As experts in AI-driven task automation, we’re constantly looking at how technology can remove friction from day-to-day property operations,” he says.

“This industry-first collaboration brings issue reporting, contractor sourcing, appointment booking, payments and digital sign-off into one platform.”

Checkatrade Product & Commercial Owner Hamza Anjarwalla says sourcing reliable contractors remained a major operational challenge for landlords operating across multiple locations.

“By integrating Checkatrade’s network of vetted tradespeople into askporter’s platform, property teams will get faster access to trusted local contractors,” he adds.

The partnership reflects the growing adoption of AI and workflow automation across the property sector, particularly within lettings and block management, as firms look to offset rising costs and improve operational efficiency.

Under the launch agreement, landlords already using askporter will receive access to the Checkatrade integration without additional fees during the first year.
