PPHA and Persimmon agree affordable scheme in Bedworth

Park Properties Housing Association (PPHA) has exchanged contracts with housebuilder Persimmon Homes to deliver 75 affordable homes at Newlands Meadows in Bedworth, Warwickshire.

The deal forms part of a wider 440-home development and continues a long-running partnership between the two organisations, which have now worked together on 37 schemes over the past five years.
The homes will be delivered across a mix of affordable tenures, including Shared Ownership and Affordable Rent, aimed at supporting local housing demand in the Midlands.

First handovers are expected in autumn 2026, with the full scheme scheduled for completion by winter 2027. Shared Ownership homes are due to launch in summer 2026.

HOUSING DEMAND

The development will include a mix of one- to four-bedroom properties, with 16 homes allocated to Shared Ownership and 59 to Affordable Rent.

Newlands Meadows is located close to Coventry and Nuneaton and will include green space, playing fields and a wildlife area as part of the wider scheme.

Daniel Watson (main picture, right), Head of Acquisitions at PPHA, says: “Expanding access to Shared Ownership alongside Affordable Rent is critical to meeting local housing demand.

“Shared Ownership remains under-represented in parts of the Midlands, limiting pathways into home ownership for many working households.

“By delivering both Shared Ownership and Affordable Rent homes at Newlands Meadows, our partnership is addressing a clear gap in provision while ensuring a tenure mix that supports long-term, sustainable communities.”

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

And Emily Berville Charlesworth (main picture, left), Land Director at Persimmon Homes, adds: “We are delighted to have worked alongside HSPG to deliver 75 affordable rent and Shared Ownership homes for the people of Bedworth.

“These homes form part of a wider scheme to deliver 440 homes which are proving popular with the local community.”

PPHA, part of HSPG, said the scheme supports its strategy to expand affordable housing delivery across England, having delivered more than 1,800 homes over the past five years.
