New free property portal launches after attracting 9,000 subscribers

A Hampshire letting agent has launched a free property portal after attracting more than 9,000 subscribers as pressure continues to build on the UK’s established property advertising platforms.

Find My Move, founded by letting agent Mark Vine (main picture, inset) and housing professional Chris Moss, is offering estate agents and landlords a cost-free alternative to market their properties, having already built a network featuring listings from more than 6,600 estate and letting agencies across the UK.
The platform currently hosts more than 58,000 rental properties and over 435,000 homes for sale. More than 200,000 people have visited the website during the past three months, while subscriber numbers are growing by around 3,000 each month. The founders say over half of registered users are actively searching for a property.

The launch comes at a time when the cost of portal advertising remains a major talking point across the estate agency sector, with many firms reviewing marketing spend while searching for additional ways to reach buyers and tenants.

LISTING COSTS

The idea for Find My Move was born from Mark Vine’s experience running a letting agency and hearing repeated concerns from fellow agents about the rising cost of listing properties online.

Vine (main picture, inset) says: “After six years in lettings, I found myself having the same conversations with agents time and time again. Many felt they were paying increasingly large sums simply to advertise housing stock at a time when businesses across the sector are facing growing pressures.

“We wanted to create a platform that offered agents and landlords another route to market without the significant costs often associated with property advertising. The response so far has been extremely encouraging and gives us confidence that there is genuine demand for a different approach.

“With more than 9,000 subscribers already on the platform and thousands more joining every month, we believe Find My Move can become a valuable additional channel for agents, landlords and property seekers alike.”

FREE TO AGENTS AND LANDLORDS

Unlike many traditional property portals, Find My Move is free for both agents and landlords. Instead, the business plans to generate revenue through advertising opportunities and commercial partnerships, while keeping property listings free.

Moss says: “Our immediate priority is to continue growing the number of agents, landlords and property seekers using the platform across the UK.

“We’ve created Find My Move to be accessible, straightforward and beneficial for everyone involved in the property journey. The scale of engagement we’ve seen already shows there is an appetite for new ideas and alternative ways of connecting people with property opportunities.”

The founders say the portal will remain free for the foreseeable future while they continue expanding the platform and building awareness across the industry.

Looking further ahead, they also plan to work with agents, landlords, local authorities and other housing organisations to help broaden access to housing and connect more people with suitable homes.
