LandSale steps in as rural property portal closes

A long-running UK property portal dedicated to farms, land and rural property has ceased operating after 18 years.

UK Land & Farms went offline on 2 July 2026, bringing to an end one of the UK’s longest-established specialist platforms for rural property listings.
Launched in 2008 by the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC), part of Lloyds Banking Group, the portal had become an industry institution, used by rural estate agents to market farms, land, woodland, equestrian properties and other specialist rural assets across the UK.

The closure has removed an essential portal for many of the nation’s property professionals, but specialist land platform LandSale has announced that it is inviting affected rural agents to join its platform as founding rural partners, with free listings available.

PORTAL POWER

Launched in February 2026, LandSale – a portal dedicated to land, farms, equestrian properties, country homes and rural estates – has grown to more than one million users in its first five months and now hosts thousands of rural property listings across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The platform ranks first on Google for search terms including “land for sale”, “vineyards for sale” and “undeveloped land for sale”.

LandSale has confirmed that it has no commercial or legal relationship with UK Land & Farms, AMC or Lloyds Banking Group, and has not acquired any agencies, listings or data from the former portal.

SECTOR FOCUS

Adam Morris, founder of LandSale, says: “UK Land & Farms was an established part of the rural property market for many years and its closure marks the end of a platform that many agents and buyers knew well and relied on for the success of their business.

“Rural property has its own requirements and deserves a specialist marketplace built around the needs of farms, land and country property. As the market adjusts, we’re opening our platform to rural agents looking for a dedicated place to showcase their listings.

“We launched LandSale to focus entirely on this sector and, in just five months, more than one million people have used the platform. We look forward to welcoming all agents and buyers who are looking for a modern, specialist rural property platform.”
