Countrywide Surveying Services (CSS) will bring together senior leaders from across the property, mortgage and lending sectors next week for its annual Future Insight Forum, with discussions set to focus on housing market trends, property risk and the future of the homebuying process.
The event, which takes place at the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in London on 10 June, will see property professionals, suveyors and lender representatives examine the challenges and opportunities currently shaping the market.
Aneisha Beveridge, Group Head of Research at Connells Group, will open proceedings with an assessment of housing market activity and key trends emerging so far in 2026.
She will be followed by Graham Closier, Group Mortgage Development Director at Connells Group, who will provide an update on lending volumes, borrower behaviour and the outlook for the mortgage market.
HOMEBUYING PROCESS
A key focus of the event will be the ongoing drive to improve the homebuying process. Jean Coughlan, Home Conveyancing Director at Connells Group, and Tim Muir, Project Manager at Connells Group, will introduce The Property Transaction Network, exploring how greater collaboration and connectivity between stakeholders could help reduce delays and improve efficiency across the transaction journey.
Customer outcomes and professional standards will also feature prominently on the agenda. Steve Lees MRICS, Associate Director, Technical Services at Countrywide Surveying Services, will examine the relationship between survey quality, professional standards and Consumer Duty obligations.
Helen Stead, Head of Countrywide Home Surveys, will discuss the growing importance of home condition surveys and the role they can play in improving consumer understanding of property risks before purchase.
The event will conclude with an expert panel discussion and closing remarks from Kharla Mullen (main picture), Chief Commercial Officer at Countrywide Surveying Services.
The forum comes at a time when lenders, surveyors and property professionals continue to explore ways to improve transaction speed, increase transparency and harness technology to deliver better outcomes for homebuyers and sellers.
CHALLENGING CONVENTIONAL THINKING

Matthew Cumber, Managing Director at Countrywide Surveying Services, says: “One of the biggest challenges facing our sector is ensuring innovation delivers genuine improvements rather than simply adding another layer to an already complicated process.
“The Future Insight Forum creates an opportunity for lenders, surveyors and property professionals to share knowledge, challenge conventional thinking and focus on the practical changes that can make the property and lending journey work better for everyone involved.
“As lending, valuation and property risk become increasingly interconnected, it is important that the industry continues to have open conversations about the issues affecting decision-making, efficiency and customer outcomes.
“By bringing together a range of perspectives, we can help identify solutions that deliver meaningful benefits across the market.”
