Bruton Knowles has rolled out a new AI-enabled land referencing platform following a six-figure investment aimed at accelerating land acquisition for major UK infrastructure and energy projects.
The national chartered surveying firm has spent the past three years developing Solstice, a bespoke application designed to streamline land referencing, improve stakeholder engagement and reduce the time spent on manual land acquisition processes.
The platform, which has already been deployed on large-scale infrastructure and energy schemes, combines GIS mapping with AI-powered automation to provide project teams with real-time access to land ownership, stakeholder information and land rights data.
Bruton Knowles said Solstice is expected to reduce land referencing times by around 20%, while AI functionality cuts the time required to process Land Registry data from days or weeks to minutes.

Around 30 specialists contributed to the development of the platform, drawing on more than a century of combined industry experience. The application has been integrated across Bruton Knowles’ core systems and includes visual project management tools, encrypted data storage and secure authentication.
The firm saays Solstice has been designed to support nationally significant infrastructure projects, including Development Consent Orders (DCOs), Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) and wider land rights programmes, while giving clients access to real-time project updates and reporting.
