Whitegates franchise owners Chan Khangura and Kashmir Khangura have completed their 13th acquisition, expanding their lettings footprint across West Yorkshire with the purchase of Intelligent Lettings.
The deal strengthens the group’s presence in Huddersfield, Wakefield and Pontefract, adding to an already sizeable managed portfolio as part of a long-running growth strategy built on bolt-on acquisitions.
Intelligent Lettings, previously owned by Nick Heaton and Tracy Heaton, will be integrated into the existing Whitegates operation across Huddersfield and Pontefract, with Associate Director Liam Reilly leading the Pontefract office.
The business has built a strong local reputation for landlord and tenant service, and the acquiring group said maintaining continuity would be a priority during integration, supported by its wider infrastructure, compliance and marketing capability.
NATURAL FIT
Chan Khangura (main picture, right), Managing Director of Whitegates Huddersfield, Brighouse, Mirfield and Pontefract, says: “Intelligent Lettings is a well-respected business with a strong local presence across Huddersfield, Wakefield and Pontefract. Nick and Tracy have built excellent relationships with their landlords, and we are committed to maintaining the same high standards of service.
“This acquisition is a natural fit for our existing operation, and we look forward to welcoming their clients into Whitegates and supporting them going forward.”
The acquisition marks the latest step in a strategy that has seen the group combine organic growth with targeted purchases of independent agencies since becoming franchise owners in 2012.
Their expanding portfolio is supported by The Property Franchise Group, which provides operational scale and centralised resources across the network.
IMPRESSIVE MILESTONE

Rob Smith, Group Managing Director of The Property Franchise Group, says: “Chan and Kashmir’s continued growth is a clear example of what can be achieved through a disciplined and strategic approach to acquisitions.
“Reaching thirteen completed acquisitions is an impressive milestone and reflects their dedication to building a high-quality, sustainable lettings business within the Whitegates network.”
The integration of Intelligent Lettings will begin immediately, with landlords and tenants set to receive direct communication as part of the transition. The deal further consolidates Whitegates’ position in the West Yorkshire lettings market as consolidation among regional operators continues.
