Spitfire Homes has marked its 15th anniversary with the completion of its 1,500th home and a development pipeline of 1,600 properties across the Midlands and beyond.
The family-owned housebuilder, founded in 2011, said the milestone follows a record year in which it delivered 303 homes, representing annual growth of 70%.
The figures come at a time when many housebuilders continue to face challenges linked to affordability pressures, planning delays and wider economic uncertainty.
Over the last 15 years, Spitfire has delivered 62 residential developments, creating communities across the Midlands as well as locations stretching from Bristol and Surrey to Nottinghamshire.
COMMUNITY FUND
The company says its projects have incorporated new infrastructure, community facilities and public open space, while supporting an estimated 5,000 jobs through its developments and supply chain.
To mark the anniversary, Spitfire plans to launch a £15,000 community fund later this summer to support local projects and organisations in areas where it operates.
The housebuilder’s continued expansion is being supported by a development pipeline of 1,600 homes, providing a platform for future growth.
Alongside land investment, the company is also focusing on workforce development as the sector continues to grapple with skills shortages.
Spitfire recently committed to ensuring that at least 5% of its workforce consists of trainees or graduates, a requirement it has also extended to contractor partners working across its developments.
WELL POSITIONED

Dave Smith, Managing Director of Spitfire Homes, says: “The housebuilding industry looks very different today than it did back in 2011 and has never been without its challenges.
“What distinguishes Spitfire is the consistency it has maintained throughout – in the safety of our people, uncompromising design standards, a considered approach to placemaking and its core commitment to quality for the customer.”
Smith says that the business remains well positioned for future growth despite continued market uncertainty.
He adds: “With a 1,600-home pipeline and ongoing investment in the next generation of talent, we’re primed to build on our success. It is an incredibly exciting time to be a part of Spitfire Homes.”
The company has continued to receive industry recognition for its developments, including being named Best Small Housebuilder at the Housebuilder Awards 2025 and retaining its five-star rating in the Home Builders Federation customer satisfaction survey.
The anniversary milestone reflects a period of sustained growth for the business and underlines the continued role of regional housebuilders in delivering new homes and supporting local communities across England.
