Luxury hospitality group Capella Hotel Group has strengthened its development team as it pursues plans to double its global portfolio by 2030.
The company has appointed hospitality and real estate executive Feisal Jaffer (main picture) as Chief Development Officer to lead expansion across its Capella Hotels & Resorts and Patina Hotels & Resorts brands, with a focus on securing new development opportunities and building long-term investment partnerships.
The appointment comes as the group continues to grow internationally, with Capella Nanjing expected to open later this year, followed by new developments in Riyadh and Florence.
Patina Hotels & Resorts is also preparing to enter the Chinese market with the launch of Patina Tianjin.
GLOBAL PORTFOLIO
Jaffer returns to the business after previously working with Pontiac Land Group, Capella’s parent company, where he helped deliver several flagship projects, including the Fari Islands development in the Maldives, Capella Sydney and the launch of the Patina Hotels & Resorts brand.
Most recently, he led the expansion of Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts brand, helping grow its global portfolio to more than 40 operating and pipeline hotels.
Roland Fasel, President of Capella Hotel Group, says: “As we build the team to match our ambitions, Feisal brings deep relationships across institutional and private capital, a sharp commercial mind and a genuine understanding of our brands.
“He will drive our global development strategy, expanding our portfolio in key markets, building lasting partnerships with owners and creating enduring value across the business.”
The expansion reflects continued investor confidence in the luxury hospitality sector, with premium hotel operators seeking opportunities in gateway cities and high-end leisure destinations as international travel demand continues to recover.
