Richard Davies, Director of UK Operations at Campions Group, is marking 30 years in the property industry after joining Chestertons as a lettings negotiator in 1996.
Davies began his career in the company’s Tower Bridge office and has since progressed through a series of senior leadership roles, helping to oversee significant changes across both the sales and lettings sectors.
Over the past three decades he has worked across numerous London offices and held positions including Head of Lettings, Head of Residential, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at Chestertons.
Following the acquisition of the business in 2023, he moved into his current role overseeing operational strategy across the wider Campions Group.
TECH TRANSOFRMATION
His career has spanned one of the most transformative periods in the history of estate agency.
When Davies entered the sector, property portals, smartphones and social media did not exist, with agents relying heavily on local branch networks, newspaper advertising and face-to-face relationships to win instructions and generate business.
Today, technology plays a central role in almost every aspect of the property transaction, from marketing and communication through to compliance and customer service.
BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS
Davies says: “When I joined Chestertons in 1996, I could never have imagined that I would still be here 30 years later, helping to shape the future of the business as part of Campions Group.
“Back then there were no property portals, no smartphones and no social media. Estate agency was all about building relationships face-to-face and providing great service to clients.”
Despite the technological changes, Davies believes the fundamentals of the profession have remained consistent.

He adds: “While technology has transformed the way we work, property remains a people business, and I’m proud to have been part of that journey.”
Campions Group was established in 2023 and has expanded rapidly through a series of acquisitions.
The group now includes Chestertons, Chase Buchanan, Retirement Homesearch and Campions Lettings & Management, alongside more recent additions including Aston Chase, Battersea & Nine Elms Estate Agents, Drewery and CKB Estates.
