Whitegates Mirfield snapped-up by Chan and Kashmir Khangura

The Mirfield branch of Whitegates has been acquired by Chan Khangura and his father, Kashmir Khangura.

Chan, who is the Managing Director of Whitegates Huddersfield, Brighouse and Pontefract, has been an established franchise owner with Whitegates since July 2012.
This latest transaction is his ninth acquisition and continues his strong track record of business expansion.

The acquisition of Whitegates Mirfield marks another milestone in Chan’s career of growing the Whitegates brand through both office resales and independent agency acquisitions.

EXPANDING PORTFOLIO

Over the last five years, Chan has completed eight transactions prior to this, with Mirfield now joining his expanding portfolio.

The existing office premises will be retained and continue to operate under the Whitegates brand, ensuring a seamless transition for customers and staff as a modern satellite office.

Chan says: “It is such a strategic location for us. Just outside of Huddersfield, it makes for a very useful satellite office, which is how it will be run.

“Our plan is to keep expanding and purchasing good quality sales and rental businesses. With the structure we have in place, combined with the support of The Property Franchise Group (TPFG) and the digital marketing resources available, we are confident in growing the brand further.”

STRENGTH IN STAFF

He adds: “As a Franchise Owner, you want to work with your Franchisor, not against them and I have always found the team at TPFG very supportive.

“The biggest strength we have is our staff – good quality, senior team members who understand the fundamentals of running an estate agency and managing teams effectively.”

Looking ahead, Chan confirmed that further expansion remains part of the long-term strategy.

He adds: “In the areas we currently operate, we will keep expanding. The senior team structure is there to allow us to do that. I would always advise anyone considering growth to look at acquisitions, not necessarily more offices, but bolting in quality lettings businesses to make the operation stronger and more sustainable.”
