Whitegates has strengthened its presence in West Yorkshire with the acquisition of Huddersfield-based estate agency Yourpropertyzone.com, continuing a trend of consolidation among regional agents as firms seek scale in a subdued housing market.
The deal adds to Whitegates’ growing network across Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Brighouse, Mirfield, Pontefract, South Elmsall and Castleford and lifts its total managed portfolio to more than 1,700 properties across the region.
The acquisition further reinforces Whitegates’ lettings-led growth strategy at a time when recurring rental income is increasingly prized by estate agency businesses.
Your Property Zone has operated as a boutique agency in Huddersfield, serving both sales and lettings clients.
INDUSTRY CONSOLIDATION
Its integration into the Whitegates network reflects a wider pattern in the sector, where smaller independent agents are opting to join larger brands to access compliance support, technology platforms and marketing reach.
Whitegates is part of The Property Franchise Group, the UK’s largest property franchisor, which operates brands including Martin & Co, Ellis & Co and Parkers.
The group has been actively supporting franchisees with acquisitions as transaction volumes remain below long-term averages, a trend highlighted in recent HMRC residential transactions data.

Chan Khangura (main picture and right), Managing Director at Whitegates Estate Agents Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Brighouse and Mirfield, and Pontefract, South Elmsall and Castleford, says that the acquisition marks a strong start to the year and credited his team and The Property Franchise Group for supporting the transaction.
STRATEGIC ACQUISITION
He adds: “We are delighted to announce the recent acquisition of Huddersfield boutique agent, Your Property Zone. This strategic addition pushes our total managed portfolio to over 1,700 properties across the region and further strengthens our regional presence.”
The acquisition comes as competition intensifies in local lettings markets, with Rightmove and Zoopla data showing sustained tenant demand across much of Yorkshire despite affordability pressures.
For larger regional operators, scale is increasingly seen as critical to managing regulatory change and maintaining margins in 2026 and beyond.
Property Soup reported in November how Whitegates had strengthened its Yorkshire footprint with the acquisition of Martin & Co Pontefrac.
