Whitegates duo complete twelfth acquisition in West Yorkshire

Whitegates franchise owners Chan and Kashmir Khangura have completed their 12th acquisition, expanding their presence across West Yorkshire with the addition of Claire Ramsbottom’s lettings portfolio in Huddersfield.

The deal will see the portfolio integrated into the Whitegates Huddersfield operation, strengthening the group’s managed lettings base while ensuring continuity of service for landlords and tenants.
Chan Khangura (main picture, right), Managing Director of Whitegates Huddersfield, Brighouse, Mirfield and Pontefract, has led a long-term growth strategy combining organic expansion with targeted acquisitions of independent agencies. The latest transaction builds on that approach, further consolidating the group’s position in the local lettings market.

Claire Ramsbottom (main picture, left) will continue operating in the area, shifting her focus to residential sales under her Claire Ramsbottom eXp brand, while her lettings clients transition into the Whitegates business.

BIG OPPORTUNITY

Chan Khangura says: “This was an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-managed, high-quality lettings portfolio that complements our existing operation. Claire has built strong relationships with her landlords over the years, and we are committed to maintaining the same level of service and care they are used to. Our team is looking forward to welcoming both landlords and tenants into Whitegates and supporting them through the transition.”

Ramsbottom adds: “The time was right to focus entirely on residential sales. My new brand, Claire Ramsbottom eXp, is built around delivering a personal, high-level service and that takes real time and attention.

“Strategically it made sense to move my landlord clients to someone with the experience and infrastructure to support them as legislation and compliance continue to evolve, and Chan and the team at Whitegates were the natural choice. I’m proud of what I built over nearly a decade, and I know my clients are in excellent hands.”

GREATER STABILITY

Chan adds: “Our approach has always been to grow sustainably by integrating good quality lettings businesses into our existing structure. It allows us to offer greater stability, stronger compliance processes, and enhanced marketing support for landlords. With the team and systems we have in place, we are well positioned to continue expanding when the right opportunities arise.”
