Forget the Sunday morning lie-in this weekend and spare a thought for Wesley Barnard, Head of PR for Fine & Country, who will be lacing up his running shoes to take on the Cambridge Half Marathon and raising funds for The Fine & Country Foundation.
Established in 2014, The Foundation is dedicated to combating homelessness and supporting charities and non-profit organisations working to address this critical issue.
Over the past decade, The Fine & Country Foundation has raised over £1 million, helping those who have no place to turn. Its efforts are made possible through the tireless work of the Fine & Country network, fundraising events and the generous support of the public.
Homelessness remains a growing crisis. Research from Shelter shows that there are at least 326,000 in temporary accommodation, with around 3,900 people sleeping rough on any given night in England – a figure that has risen by 27%.
CRUCIAL SUPPORT
Since its inception, The Foundation has provided crucial support to charities and organisations dedicated to combatting poverty and homelessness.
Barnard says: “This weekend, I’ll be running the Cambridge Half Marathon for The Fine & Country Foundation, an organisation that is making a real difference in people’s lives.
“Homelessness is one of the largest social issues in the UK, and the work The Foundation supports goes beyond simply providing shelter – it addresses the root causes of why people find themselves without a home. Knowing the funds we raise can create such a positive impact is all the motivation I need to cross the finish line.”
Through his participation in the Cambridge Half Marathon and the collective efforts of Fine & Country agents, Barnard hopes to rally more support for The Fine & Country Foundation, uniting the community behind the goal of tackling homelessness.

Agents Pledge to Raise Funds for The Fine & Country Foundation
During the Fine & Country Annual Conference in London on Friday, 28th February, agents from across the UK made personal pledges to take on fundraising challenges in support of The Fine & Country Foundation, inspired by Barnard’s commitment. These efforts will contribute to the ongoing mission of providing aid to homelessness charities and initiatives. Some of the pledges include:
Bel Burnell Molyneux: Running the London Marathon in April
Jon Cooke: Running from Lands End to John O’ Groats (LEJOG) before the 2026 Fine & Country Conference.
Holly Hibbett: Walking 10,000 steps per day throughout March 2025.
Julian Amos: Cycling 500km from Normandy to Paris in 2025.
Jon Handford: Kayaking the Grand Union Canal from Milton Keynes to London in 2025.
Vanessa Bradford: Hosting an Autumn Ball with Fine & Country Droitwich in 2025.
These challenges, with varying range of ambition, reflect the dedication and commitment of Fine & Country agents to making a difference. By taking on personal feats of endurance and organisation, they aim to raise significant funds and awareness for the cause.
