Housing association VIVID has reached a significant milestone with the completion of its 10,000th new home, providing a place to live for more than 23,000 people across the South of England since the organisation was formed in 2017.
The landmark property, located in the sustainable new neighbourhood of Stoneham Park in Eastleigh, is now home to Ashley Shields (main picture, left) and her family.
To mark the occasion, VIVID celebrated on site with Ashley and representatives from Eastleigh Borough Council.
The event underscored the organisation’s mission to not only build homes, but to help people thrive by creating well-connected, vibrant communities.
GROWING COMMUNITY
“We’ve recently moved in and have settled in really well,” Shield says. “The area is lovely, the kids are happy, and we already feel at home. Being part of VIVID’s 10,000th home milestone is a real bonus – it’s great to feel like we’re part of a growing community.”
More than 80% of VIVID’s 10,000 completed homes have been delivered as affordable tenures, reflecting a strong commitment to supporting people with greater housing choice and long-term security.
POSITIVE IMPACT
Mark Perry (main picture, right), Chief Executive of VIVID, adds: “Since our founding in 2017, we’ve had a clear goal to build more affordable homes to positively impact more people.
“The completion of our 10,000th new home in those eight years marks a significant milestone in that journey. And we’re far from finished. Backed by the recent Spending Review, we’re set to ramp up our new homes programme even further, doing all we can to address the housing crisis.”
VIVID is currently ranked the sixth largest housing association builder in England, and aims to develop 1,600 new homes over the next year, focusing on affordability, energy-efficiency, and inclusive community design.
