Survey Shack launches Pro for property condition inspections

Survey Shack has launched Survey Shack Pro, a new tool designed to help estate agents and energy assessors incorporate property condition inspections into their existing workflows, supporting faster, clearer and more transparent transactions.

The launch comes as the government seeks to make home buying and selling cheaper, quicker and less stressful, following its Home Buying and Selling Consultation.
The new tool aims to address a key challenge highlighted in the RICS Surveying Skills Report 2025, which found that 87% of surveyors feel skills shortages are already affecting the industry, with 27% describing the impact as critical.

Survey Shack Pro enables agents to identify significant defects before marketing properties, improving listing quality, building buyer confidence and helping reduce fall-throughs.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Energy assessors can expand their role beyond EPCs and RAs to offer property condition reports, creating new opportunities and speeding up the sales process.

Brett Ray (main picture, inset), Founding Partner and Chief Executive of Survey Shack, says: “Crucially, Survey Shack Pro extends our professional indemnity insurance to inspections carried out by Survey Shack Approved Inspectors.

“This allows qualifying energy assessors and agents to deliver inspections within a defined framework, giving adopters a clear point of difference and PI backed reassurance. All Approved Inspectors work under Survey Shack guidelines and quality controls.

“This PI backed structure is an important milestone in changing the status quo and creates what we believe is the first end to end service that combines owner led condition checks with a professionally delivered report in a single, scalable delivery mechanism.”

OPDA FRAMEWORK

Survey Shack Pro also integrates with the Open Property Data Association’s Property Data Trust Framework, aiming to improve transparency, accelerate digitisation and make property transactions more efficient.

The company, part of the Geovation Accelerator Programme, has already introduced its Genie service within the app’s Premium package, allowing users to consult a professional surveyor on up to three aspects of their property condition inspection report within 48 hours, further tackling the lengthy times to exchange that continue to challenge the UK property market.
