Rightmove has rolled out a series of product updates aimed at helping letting agents navigate the operational and compliance pressures of the incoming Renters’ Rights Act.
The changes centre on enhancements to its Tenancy Manager platform and a major redesign of the Rightmove Plus dashboard as agents prepare for sweeping reforms set to take effect from 1 May.
The Renters’ Rights Act is expected to significantly increase administrative demands across both new and existing tenancies, with agents required to manage updated agreements, tenant communications and ongoing compliance at scale.
Rightmove’s updated Tenancy Manager introduces a “Renters’ Rights ready” workflow, designed to guide agents through the new requirements while reducing the risk of errors. The system automates key elements of tenancy setup and management, with the firm claiming it saves agents more than six hours per week on average.
REVISED DOCUMENTATION
The updates include new tenancy agreements aligned to the legislation, tools to manage changes across existing tenancies and revised offer documentation reflecting the new rules. Agents will also have access to evidence-backed rental data to support compliant rent reviews, alongside updated referencing criteria in line with changes to upfront rent and tenancy structures.
The move comes as awareness among landlords remains patchy, with more than half said to have limited understanding of the incoming legislation – increasing reliance on agents to manage compliance and mitigate risk.
RIGHTMOVE PLUS
Alongside Tenancy Manager, Rightmove has also overhauled its Rightmove Plus dashboard, placing a stronger focus on real-time performance tracking and market visibility.
The updated interface provides agents with clearer insights into available stock, new instructions and agreed lets, with improved access to market share data across key lettings metrics. Sales functionality has also been enhanced, including visibility on price reductions, fall-through rates and a new visual sales funnel designed to map progression more clearly.
The updates reflect a broader shift across the sector, as agents invest in technology to manage growing regulatory complexity while maintaining operational efficiency and service standards.
MAJOR ADMIN TASK

Christian Balshen, Director of Agent Partnerships at Rightmove, says: “Letting agents have had to become experts at dealing with legislation changes and Tenancy Manager is here to help.
“Slightly unusually, the Renters’ Rights Act applies not only to new tenancies but also to all existing tenancies.
“This is a massive administrative task for letting agents with several compliance potholes, and I’m very proud that Tenancy Manager is helping our partners navigate these changes.
“Plus, the updates we’ve made to the Rightmove Plus platform are aimed at making it even easier for agents to act with confidence and clarity.”
