Rightmove pinpoints the UK’s most sought-after locations of 2025

Rightmove has identified the places and property types that captured the most attention from buyers and renters in 2025, offering a snapshot of shifting demand across the housing market.

The portal’s annual search data points to a year shaped by renewed urban interest, rising coastal appeal and strong overseas aspirations.
London, Manchester and Glasgow ranked as the UK’s most searched-for locations overall, underscoring the continued pull of major urban centres despite fluctuating market sentiment through the year.

Within the capital, Wimbledon, Fulham and Chiswick generated the highest buyer search volumes, while Canary Wharf, Clapham and Fulham led the rankings among renters – reflecting a blend of affordability, connectivity and lifestyle appeal.

COASTAL DEMAND STRENGTHENS

Searches for homes by the sea remained strong, with Bournemouth, Eastbourne and Worthing topping the list of the UK’s most sought-after coastal spots.

INTERNATIONAL ASPIRATIONS

Spain, France and Dubai were the most-searched overseas destinations, highlighting enduring demand for sunnier second-home markets.

Rightmove said buyers in 2025 were more likely to prioritise a garage when filtering searches, while renters increasingly looked for pet-friendly homes as landlords relaxed restrictions.
