Reapit has partnered with two Making Tax Digital (MTD) providers to help letting agents manage the upcoming shift to digital tax reporting.
The proptech firm has integrated its platforms with Hammock and Nexus by Landlord Studio, allowing agents to support landlords ahead of new HMRC requirements without taking on additional administrative workload.
The move comes as agents face growing compliance pressure, with landlords earning over £50,000 from property or self-employment required to submit digital tax updates, with the first deadline set for 7 August 2026.
Without automation, agents risk being drawn into time-intensive processes, including exporting financial data, reconciling property-level income and expenses, and handling increased landlord queries.
REMOVING FRICTION
Reapit said the integrations are designed to remove that friction by allowing landlords to connect directly to MTD-compliant platforms, with financial data flowing automatically from Reapit or PayProp systems.
Nexus, developed by Landlord Studio, provides a dedicated portal where landlords can review income, manage allowable expenses and submit returns directly to HMRC. The platform also includes open banking functionality, enabling landlords to incorporate additional financial data.
Hammock, meanwhile, is recognised by HMRC for MTD for Income Tax and integrates with more than 50 UK bank and credit card feeds. It is widely used by landlords and accountants and is recommended by accounting platforms such as Intuit QuickBooks and Sage.
The integration allows landlords to automatically pull in property income and expenses once they accept an invitation from their agent, removing the need for manual data handling or onboarding support.
BEST IN THE INDUSTRY
Steve Richmond (main picture), General Manager for Reapit across the UK & Ireland, Middle East and Africa, says: “Reapit only partners with the best in the industry. We chose Hammock and Nexus because they deliver leading MTD solutions and handle every part of landlord onboarding and technical support.
“For agents, it’s as simple as sending an invitation and after that all taxable property income and expenses flow automatically from Reapit and PayProp into the MTD platforms.
“We’ve worked closely with both Hammock and Nexus to build these integrations in this way, as we know how busy letting agents are adapting to the Renters’ Rights Act. Making the process as hands-off and painless as possible was a real priority and both of our partners have truly delivered a seamless service for the industry.”
ALL OWNERSHIP STRUCTURES
Manoj Varsani MBE, founder and CEO of Hammock, says: “Hammock has been recognised by HMRC as compatible for MTD since 2024. We are helping thousands of landlords and accountants transition smoothly to the MTD tax regime and manage their MTD obligations.
“Hammock is suitable for all ownership structures – including joint ownership and limited companies, as well as tenancies – including HMOs and furnished holiday lets.
“We are already working with leading letting agents in the UK and more agents are joining our network every week. We are very excited about this partnership with Reapit. This is a best-in-class use of technology to foster transparency and minimise manual workload for letting agents and their landlord clients.”
AGENT EXCLUSIVE
And Logan Ransley, managing director and co-founder of Landlord Studio, says: “Landlord Studio has been supporting landlords since 2014, powering property accounting for thousands of landlords.
“With Nexus, we’ve built something exclusively for agents, giving them a way to support their landlords without stepping into tax.”
Richmond adds: “Reapit believes agents and their landlords deserve real choice. Not everyone in our space takes that view, but it matters. By partnering with leading MTD providers, we’re giving agents flexibility in how they support their clients, while keeping the process simple, compliant, and firmly in their control.”
