Proptech HouzeCheck has new backers. The digital-first surveying portal says it has secured significant investment from Beach Equity Investments LLP, a private equity firm based in London.
While the size of the transaction is commercial sensitive, Beach Equity typically invests £2–10m in SMEs that use technology to reduce friction and costs across internal processes, delivery, or for their customers.
Beach prefers to invest in companies based in the United Kingdom with revenues of between £1m–£30m.
As part of the deal, Tom Billings (main picture), a managing partner at Beach Equity, has taken a seat on the HouzeCheck board.
STRATEGIC GUIDANCE
Billings has an extensive background in strategy and operations, having previously been a private equity backed managing director, as well as founding partner of BrightStar Capital, a private investment vehicle. As an investor-operator, he will provide strategic guidance and capital raising support.
Billings says: “We like to invest in businesses which use technology to transform industries by improving the customer proposition. That makes HouzeCheck a perfect fit for us. We believe in the concept of a digital-first surveying portal and are looking forward to backing the team and turbocharging its growth.”
MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Richard Sexton, commercial director of HouzeCheck, adds: “The injection of finance will help us to develop our bespoke tech further – ensuring surveyors report accurately and consistently – for example, by offering suggestions linked to their inputs.
“Our conveyancer, mortgage broker, and estate agent introducers should notice no difference to service day-to-day and we will continue to deliver a market-leading turnaround to our customers with an average report time of between 2.5 and 3 days.”

Amit Bansal, founder and CEO of HouzeCheck, says: “HouzeCheck is on a mission to disrupt residential surveying by improving the value proposition for surveyors, homebuyers, estate agents, and conveyancers.
“In Beach Equity, we’ve found the perfect partner – one who shares our vision of building something truly exceptional. This investment will help us scale faster, reach a wider market, and accelerate innovation in technology and AI.”
HouzeCheck’s platform leverages cloud, digital, and AI technologies to improve both the surveyor’s and customer’s experience.
The business now works with approximately 150 fully accredited members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and offers RICS Level 2 Homebuyer Surveys, RICS Level 3 Building Surveys, and property valuations.
