Propertymark is now proudly displaying one of the limited-edition Mighty Striker gavels at its headquarters following a nationwide charity auction led by Bidpath to raise funds for brain tumour research and support charities.
The specially commissioned gavel was created as part of Bidpath’s Gavel Art Trail & Charity Auction, delivered in partnership with Wild in Art.
The initiative brought together auctioneers, property professionals and sector partners from across the UK, with all proceeds going to three charities dedicated to improving outcomes for those affected by brain tumours.
The fundraising campaign was inspired by Bidpath colleague George Wade, a member of the NAVA Propertymark Advisory Panel, who was diagnosed with a double brain tumour in April 2024. His experience prompted friends and colleagues to act, using The Bidpath Foundation as a platform to raise both awareness and much-needed funding for charities that are often underrepresented.
PIONEERING RESEARCH
A series of online and live auctions saw the bespoke gavels sold to the highest bidders, with funds directed towards pioneering research, improved treatment options and vital support services for patients and their families.
Propertymark’s acquisition of the Mighty Striker gavel recognises not only the craftsmanship and symbolism of the piece, but also the collective effort of the property and auction sectors in backing a cause that affects thousands of families every year.
Now on display at Propertymark’s headquarters, the gavel serves as a lasting reminder of the power of industry collaboration and the difference it can make when businesses come together to support meaningful causes.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Nathan Emerson, Chief Executive of Propertymark, says: “We are honoured to be part of such an inspiring initiative.
“The ‘Mighty Striker’ gavel is more than a striking piece of craftsmanship; it represents the generosity, community spirit, and shared values that underpin our sector. We are proud to support Bidpath’s fundraising efforts and these charities’ essential work.
“The gavel now displayed in our headquarters is serving as a reminder of the difference we can make when our industry comes together.”
TRULY INSPIRING
Richard Worral, past NAVA Propertymark President, adds: “It was a pleasure to attend the Bidpath Foundation Charity Gavel Auction along with fellow board member Michael Sears and Immediate Past NAEA Propertymark President Toby Leek, in order to support our friend and colleague, George.
“George’s determination and strength is truly inspiring.
“The team at Bidpath put on a fantastic evening, and we were delighted to secure ‘The Mighty Striker’ gavel, which is now sitting in pride of place at Arbon House. The auction raised over £40,000 for its chosen charities, and we were delighted to support them.”
