Propertymark has marked more than two years of its partnership with Bright Solicitors, as demand for specialist legal guidance across the property sector continues to rise.
Bright Solicitors has provided legal support to Propertymark’s Member Helpline since September 2023, advising agents in England on complex and often time-critical issues.
The service operates alongside Propertymark’s nation-specific legal partners, which deliver equivalent specialist advice to members in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Beyond frontline helpline support, the partnership has played a wider role in strengthening Propertymark’s legal resources for agents. Bright Solicitors has been responsible for drafting and updating Propertymark’s template tenancy agreements and for developing new Terms of Business for estate and letting agents in England. These will shortly be released to members as part of Propertymark’s Company Advantage membership package.
AGENT CRITICAL
The two organisations are now entering the next phase of their partnership, with a focus on keeping tenancy agreements and terms of business under continuous review.
The aim is to ensure agents have access to clear, practical and up-to-date documentation as regulation across the housing market evolves.
The timing is significant. Proposed reforms, including the Renters’ Rights Bill and the Housing (Scotland) Bill, are expected to bring some of the most substantial changes to the sector in more than 30 years.
As a result, access to robust legal insight and current guidance is becoming increasingly critical for property professionals.
Propertymark says it continues to work with key stakeholders to ensure its members’ priorities are represented as legislative change accelerates.

“Having expert solicitors available for complex enquiries ensures that our members receive thorough, accurate advice quickly, which has transformed the value of the Helpline service for agents in England.”
