Property app Homing In launches with TV campaign

Property discovery app Homing In is launching a national TV advertising campaign across Sky channels in a bid to raise awareness of an alternative way for home-seekers to find properties.

The campaign, which begins in mid-March, will target viewers repeatedly over the coming weeks as the platform looks to grow its presence with both consumers and estate agents.
Homing In allows users to see nearby properties displayed as virtual “for sale” or “to let” boards on the satellite version of Google Maps. Each listing shows key details such as location, price and size and links directly to the property page on the agent’s own website.

The app is designed to reveal available homes around a user’s location in real time while they are on the move, whether travelling on foot, by car, train or bus.

Founder Corin Ashbee-Waugh says the platform is intended to give agents a low-cost marketing alternative while directing enquiries straight to their own websites.

He adds: “Estate agents across the UK can now benefit from a low-cost (even free) marketing platform aimed at the tech-savvy consumers of today, receive enquiries direct through their own websites, and have a virtual for sale (or to let) board on every property.”

Homing In is already building national coverage, with the largest concentration of listings currently in Greater London and the Home Counties.

Ashbee-Waugh says that the TV campaign is intended to accelerate growth and help agents reduce reliance on traditional property portals.

“The TV commercial will build on our growth so far increasing public awareness. This is a real opportunity for agents to begin the process of reducing their dependency on the major portals.”

FREE AND PAID OPTIONS

The platform offers both free and paid options for agents. Pricing is based on the number of properties listed rather than the number of offices, with entry-level packages starting at £15 per month for up to 50 properties.

Ashbee-Waugh says: “We have both free and chargeable models, but unlike the portals, who charge by the office, our rates are based on the number of available properties an agency has, with an entry level of £15 a month for up to 50 properties, each with a branded board, with a ‘no-price-rise-for-3-years’ and never more than 10% of Rightmove guarantees.”
