Planning consent for Burlington Developments in Wokingham

Boyer (part of Leaders Romans Group) has secured a resolution to grant planning permission on behalf of Burlington Developments for 10-12 Latimer Road in Wokingham.

The 0.37 ha site, once occupied by outdated and low-quality employment buildings, will now host 42 one, two and three-bedroom homes.
Originally approved as 100% market housing last year, the plans have recently been revised to include either a policy-compliant 30% affordable housing or a 100% affordable scheme, with an affordable housing provider overseeing the project.

This follows the planning approval granted in July 2024 for the construction the 42 homes, which includes onsite parking, shared amenity spaces and enhanced green areas to support local wildlife, following the demolition of the existing buildings.

Not only does this revision provide prospective homeowners with an opportunity that may otherwise be out of reach in a borough known for its high property prices, but it also aligns with the Local Authority’s Affordable Housing Strategy (2024-2028) to reduce social and economic inequalities across the area.

Alice Moore, Associate Director in Boyer’s London office, says: “The development will deliver a high-quality, sustainable development close to Wokingham Train Station, providing much-needed housing, including up to 100% affordable through the recent changes to the permission. The project will deliver various benefits, and we are excited to see it delivered.”
