Orlando Reid buys Manchester lettings firm in growth push

Property consultancy Orlando Reid has expanded its lettings and management business with the acquisition of South Manchester agency Bergins, adding more than 250 properties to its portfolio.

The deal, completed this month, is the firm’s first acquisition of 2026 and forms part of a wider strategy to grow its property management platform across the UK.
Bergins, which has operated for many years in Northenden and Wythenshawe, will be integrated into the Orlando Reid group, with the existing team remaining in place to ensure continuity for landlords and tenants.

The move strengthens Orlando Reid’s presence in the North West as it looks to increase the number of managed homes under its control and build a larger national platform covering lettings, sales and investment consultancy.

WELL-RESPECTED

Baljit Arora (main picture, left), Managing Director of Orlando Reid, says the acquisition brings an established local business into the group at a time when demand for professional management remains strong.

He adds: “Bergins is a well-respected company with a loyal client base, supported by a strong level of repeat business. They have established an impressive market share in Northenden and Wythenshawe and we are delighted to welcome their experienced team and clients into the Orlando Reid group.

“This acquisition is an important step in our growth strategy as we continue to scale our management portfolio and strengthen our presence across South Manchester.”

Orlando Reid said the addition of the Bergins portfolio moves the business closer to its target of managing 2,500 properties across the group by the end of 2027.

The company provides investment consultancy, sales, lettings and full management services, working with both UK-based and overseas investors as it continues to expand its footprint in the residential sector.
