Movera appoints Glen Walker to lead professional standards and risk culture overhaul

Movera, the home-moving services group, has appointed Glen Walker as Director of Professional Standards in a move that underscores its commitment to operational excellence and long-term resilience.

Walker (main picture), a seasoned risk and governance specialist with over two decades of experience across major financial institutions and niche advisory firms, is spearheading a transformation of Movera’s internal standards framework.
His remit includes the development of a group-wide risk culture aligned with the company’s ambitious growth strategy.

Since joining, Walker has already made significant progress. Within his first 100 days, he has implemented a new risk management framework and introduced an integrated platform to support governance and oversight.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Under his direction, Movera’s professional standards function is being reshaped to encompass new capabilities across financial crime prevention, client care, technical advisory and internal audit support.

The initiative reflects a broader trend among leading real estate and financial services firms to embed professional standards as a business enabler rather than a reactive compliance function.

Movera’s approach signals a forward-looking posture, where governance is seen as integral to agility, trust and talent development.

ACCOUNTABILITY AND CONFIDENCE

Walker says: “Professional standards must go beyond regulatory minimums – they should reflect how a business leads, operates and supports its people. We’re building a model that is scalable, technology-enabled and designed to empower teams across Movera with clarity, accountability and confidence.”

Recruitment is already underway to build out the newly expanded team, with professional standards set to play a pivotal role in shaping group operations across customer engagement, legal, risk and advisory services.
