Michael Day, Managing Director of Integra Property Services, once again laced up his walking shoes on Sunday – this time joined by his daughter, Carrie – to complete the 10-mile London Bridges Wellness Walk in aid of Diabetes UK.
This marks Day’s third consecutive year taking on the iconic Battersea Park to Tower Bridge route.
And thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters he has already raised over £2,500 this year alone.
Day’s efforts are nothing short of inspiring. Living with Type 1 diabetes for more than 35 years, he has turned his personal challenge into a powerful mission – raising awareness of a condition that now affects around one in 15 people in the UK, and possibly as many as one in 5 when undiagnosed cases are considered.
500 MILES SO FAR
His dedication has seen him raise nearly £8,000 for Diabetes UK over the past three years – including not just his London Bridges walks but also completing two separate million-step challenges (totalling around 500 miles!).
Speaking after crossing the finish line, Day, pictured with daughter Carrie, said: “Diabetes UK is a wonderful charity and I am proud to have raised around £8,000 in the last three years. I’d like to thank all of my friends and family who have donated so generously and enabled me to contribute to such a worthy cause.”
Michael’s fundraising page remains open until the end of October – so there’s still time to show your support and help push that total even higher.
