Martin & Co Worcester & Gloucester secures first strategic acquisition under new director

Martin & Co Worcester & Gloucester has completed the acquisition of neighbouring Hills Estate Agents, marking its first major expansion since director Nirvair Sander took the helm in November 2021.

The deal, which expands the franchise’s lettings portfolio by more than 300 properties, brings together two established local agencies and consolidates Martin & Co’s footprint in Worcester.
Hills’ operations will be merged into the existing Martin & Co office, with all staff retained.

Martin & Co, part of The Property Franchise Group, is pursuing selective expansion through acquisitions that combine local reputation with national brand reach and technology.

OPPORTUNE MOMENT

Nirvair Sander says: “Hills Estate Agents, located next door to our office, presented an ideal strategic fit.

“The proximity enables us to offer seamless service, and their property portfolio closely mirrors our own, ensuring consistency and familiarity for both teams and clients. With a strong and steady team in place, now was the opportune moment to grow.”

Retaining the experienced Hills team was central to the transaction.

“Their local expertise and client relationships are invaluable, and we’re pleased they will play a central role in our future,” Sander adds.

Toby Philips, Martin & Co group managing director, says: “We are thrilled to see Nirvair and his team take this ambitious step. This acquisition exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit we foster within the Martin & Co network.

“Combining a strong local independent like Hills with the national power and resources of the Martin & Co brand is a proven formula for success, and we are confident this will deliver outstanding results for clients in Worcester and Gloucester.”

EXPANDED PORTFOLIO

The merged agency will offer landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers an expanded portfolio, broader service range, and access to enhanced technology platforms. Both teams are working to ensure a smooth integration and uninterrupted service.

Looking ahead, Sander outlined his ambitions: “Our long-term aim is to be the leading estate agent in the area, known for our innovation, reliability, and commitment to our landlords, tenants, buyers, and sellers alike. We are excited about the future and confident that this merger will bring positive change for all involved.”
