LRG snaps up East Midlands’ Osprey Property

Leaders Romans Group (LRG) has expanded its East Midlands footprint with the acquisition of Residential Property Group Ltd, trading as Osprey Property, a long-established regional estate and lettings agency with branches in Oakham, Stamford, Oundle and Melton Mowbray.

The deal strengthens LRG’s position across Rutland, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire, bringing the Group into several market towns where it previously had only limited representation.
Osprey, founded in 2005, has developed a strong reputation for its local expertise and personal, community-focused approach to sales and lettings.

Osprey operates as an independent, family-owned business specialising in market-town locations and staffed entirely by local residents. Its teams leverage deep area knowledge and a network of offices to connect sellers, landlords, buyers and tenants. LRG said the agency’s local-first ethos and established regional presence made it a strong cultural and operational fit for its ongoing acquisition strategy.

SIGNIFICANT ACQUISITION

Under the agreement, Osprey will continue trading under its existing brand. All staff are being retained and Managing Director Graham Freeman will remain in post, rejoining LRG after previously working with the Group five years ago.

Matthew Light (main picture, inset), Group Mergers & Acquisitions Director at LRG, says: “This is another significant acquisition and another strong step in our strategy to partner with high-quality multi-branch regional agencies.”

GROWING PRESENCE

And he adds: “We are delighted to expand our footprint into three new towns within an area where we already have a growing presence.

“This marks our second multi-branch acquisition in just three weeks, following the purchase of the Northern Estate Agencies Group, and reflects the strong momentum behind LRG’s expansion plans.

“We continue to actively work on several strategic opportunities across the property sector and are already building an exciting pipeline for 2026.”

We’ve built a loyal customer base and strong local teams, and being part of a larger group will enable us to continue delivering the personal service we’re known for, with the added benefit of national support and investment.

“I’m looking forward to working with the LRG team again and to the opportunities this partnership will bring for both our staff and clients.”
