LRG has promoted Hannah Cooper to the role of Chief People Officer (CPO), recognising her leadership of the firm’s people strategy as the business continues to expand across sales, lettings, property management and the wider living sector.
Cooper (main picture) previously served as Group HR Director and has been with the business since 2013, when she joined Leaders Romans Group as an HR adviser.
She later progressed to head of HR operations, overseeing people functions for more than 3,000 colleagues across the group’s nationwide network.
Most recently, she has led initiatives covering recruitment, employee development and employment compliance, alongside programmes designed to strengthen engagement and retention across the business.
PEOPLE FUNCTION
In her new role, Cooper will continue to oversee LRG’s people function, bringing together workforce planning, skills development and organisational design as the group grows its portfolio of property brands.
Among her key initiatives has been the launch of EmpowerHER, an internal programme aimed at supporting and developing women across the organisation. The initiative includes mentoring schemes pairing aspiring female leaders with senior executives, networking events, learning resources and industry award nominations.
The programme complements a broader range of internal policies including enhanced maternity leave, a menopause policy, fertility support and flexible working initiatives.
HIGH IMPACT

Michael Cook, Chief Executive Officer of LRG, says: “During the last few years Hannah has overseen staff retention rates improve to our best ever recorded levels, reflecting the quality of our recruitment and ongoing staff engagement, which make LRG a place people thrive and choose to stay not just for a job, but for a career.
“Hannah’s promotion reflects the impact she has already been making across the Group. LRG is built on the quality of our people – how we recruit, develop and support colleagues and how we create a culture that helps teams do their best work.
“Appointing a chief people officer recognises that this is not a support function on the side. It is central to how we run the business and how we serve customers.”
Cooper began her HR career after completing a business honours degree specialising in human resource management at the University of the West of England, before gaining a Level 7 postgraduate diploma in human resource management while working in the biotechnology sector. She has more than 15 years’ HR experience, including 13 years in the property industry.
