Lomond has continued its rapid expansion with the acquisition of Prospect Estate and Lettings Agency, marking its entry into the Thames Valley and strengthening its presence across the South East.
The deal adds a major regional player operating across Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire to the group’s growing portfolio.
Prospect was founded more than 35 years ago and has grown from a single branch in Bracknell into a 10-branch network managing over 3,500 properties.
The business is headquartered in central Reading in a newly refurbished 5,500 sq ft office and has expanded both organically and through targeted acquisitions.
HOME COUNTIES PUSH
The acquisition represents a strategic move for Lomond, adding another hub brand in the Home Counties and widening access to one of the UK’s most active property markets.
The group now operates across 12 premium brands nationwide and continues to target high-quality regional agencies with strong local reputations.
Prospect’s track record of staff retention and development is seen as central to its success, with many senior figures having begun as trainees and spent decades with the business. This emphasis on people, culture and service is viewed as closely aligned with Lomond’s own operating model.
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY
Rob Mott, Chief Revenue Officer at Lomond, says: “Prospect’s strong brand heritage, loyal customer base and exceptional people perfectly align with Lomond’s core values.
“I’ve admired Prospect for some time, and this partnership presents an exciting opportunity to deepen our presence around London and the South East. I’m delighted to welcome Prospect’s talented team and valued clients to Lomond.”
And Colin Wells, Founder and CEO of Prospect, adds: “Prospect was founded on principles that remain at the heart of our business 35 years later – integrity, excellence and putting people first.
“When considering a partner for the next stage of our journey, alignment in values was paramount.
“Lomond shares that ethos completely, and I’m confident this partnership will enable Prospect to thrive while preserving what makes us unique.”
STRATEGIC FIT
Ed Phillips (main picture, inset), Group Chief Executive of Lomond, says: “We’ve been looking to identify the right business in this region for some time, knowing how strategically important the area is to our continued expansion.
“Prospect is a standout fit – a business with deep local roots, an exceptional reputation and a culture that reflects our own commitment to people, service and performance.
“Their addition as a new hub for Lomond establishes our presence in one of the UK’s most dynamic markets, and we’re excited to support Prospect’s next chapter while building on the strong foundations that Colin and his team have created.”
With Lomond’s backing, Prospect is expected to accelerate growth while retaining the brand identity and values that have underpinned its three decades of expansion.
